Il Maestro Seigo Tada nacque il 18 febbraio del 1922. Era il primogenito della famiglia Tada, a Kyoto , in Giappone, dove il Karate Goju Ryu si era formalmente introdotto nell’isola principale di Honshu . Il Giappone è formato da quattro isole principali: nella parte settentrionale Hokkaido , Honshu , la più grande; nella parte occidentale Shikoku e nella parte meridionale Kyushu . Okinawa è una piccola isola nella parte sud di Kyushu . Il suo primo contatto con le Arti Marziali lo ebbe quando era solo un ragazzino di quindici anni, nel 1937  si spostò e si trasferì con la sua famiglia a Shangai city , in Cina . Lì, incontrò un maestro di Kempo , chiamato Ching Lou e gli insegnò quest’ arte marziale Cinese. Nel Marzo del 1939, tornato a Kyoto , iniziò un allenamento di Karate alla Ritsumeikan University , dove frequentò una scuola superiore . Nel 1941, iniziò a frequentare corsi si scienze delle finanze in questa università . All’università, c’era una palestra di Karate club supervisionata dal famoso maestro Miyagi Chojun , che era il responsabile e colui che ha introdotto il karate Goju Ryu . In pochissimo tempo è diventato l’allenatore di Karate di questa università.
Nel 1943, quando è stato chiamato alla Seconda Guerra Mondiale, ha raggiunto il gruppo "Tokotai" che aveva la stessa funzione del "Kamikaze" ( Venti divini ), che diventò famoso per le sue tecniche suicide. Ma fortunatamente per noi, i Karateka , la guerra era finita e il nostro maestro non è stato inviato per la sua ultima missione. Appena dopo la guerra, sentì dentro che doveva fare qualcosa per alzare il morale ai giapponesi. Così, iniziò a Kyoto, un lavoro basato sull’insegnamento del Karate Goju Ryu . In questo modo, pròvò a tirar su di morale e sicurezza di sé nelle persone che praticavano il Karate . Nell’agosto del 1945, tornò in Giappone, dopo essere stato in Korea , e a settembre dello stesso anno formò il "Torimaru Dojo" , la prima palestra con il nome Seigokan. In quest’anno, si laureò alla Ritsumeikan University ed è stato assunto come pubblico impiegato. Nel 1947 è stato invitato ad insegnare al Saineikan Budo Castle , un famoso centro di Arti Marziali a Kyoto . Così, decise di lasciare il suo lavoro e dedicarsi anima e corpo all’insegnamento del Karate Goju Ryu Seigokai. Visto il grande successo dei corsi di Karate, il maestro Seigo Tada, nello stesso anno, fondò l’ Associazione di tutti gli appartenenti alla Seigokan Karate do giapponese.
Nel 1951, formò il Toofukuji Dojo , dove i grandi karateka della Seigokan si sono diplomati. Un interessantissimo punto nella vita del maestro Seigo Tada fu l’intuizione che ha avuto sul Karate, prima di unirsi alle truppe giapponesi. Come aveva predetto una grave crisi economica del dopoguerra, il giovane maestro acquistò una grande quantità di kimono e li lasciò nella sua casa. Il paese ha sofferto tempi duri dopo la fine della guerra, comunque il giovane maestro Seigo Tada , con la vendita dei kimono e col procedere delle lezioni, ha potuto mantenersi durante quei giorni difficili. Un altro interessantissimo punto della sua vita fu quando era più giovane e fece un esame di recitazione per il cinema giapponese e lo passò, ma quando si rese conto di ciò che poteva essere la sua vita da attore, la abbandonò e, fortunatamente, tornò al suo talento del Karate Seigokan . Questo successe quando in contemporanea il famoso attore Toshiro Mifune ebbe ruoli da protagonista al cinema. Con la fama di grande combattente, la Seigokan crebbe improvvisamente , grazie ai distaccamenti nelle altre città e province e il primo segno di espansione era l’inserimento di una palestra nella provincia di Shiga, nella città di Ootsu (1952). Seguendo questa espansione, la Seigokan si espanse velocemente in tutto il Giappone, dalla parte settentrionale delle isole di Hokkaido a quella meridionale dell’isola di Kyushu. Invece il Karate, in quel periodo, non aveva molte tecniche con le gambe, il giovane maestro Seigo Tada si affermò grazie all’uso di una buona varietà di calci che erano le sue tecniche preferite, a causa l’influenza del Kung fu cinese che ha praticato nella sua adolescenza. Il 9 Marzo 1954, il maestro Seigo Tada si sposò con la giovane Okamoto Mitiko, dottoressa residente a Himeji town ,nella provincia di Hyogo , dove spostò la sede principale della Seigokan Goju Ryu. Dal 1966 in poi, la sua arte raggiunse il mondo intero. Oh Do Kan, un famoso centro di arti marziali a Hong Kong , invitò un istruttore di Karate Goju Ryu Seigokai. Così, è stato inviato Yukiaki Yoki e successivamente Shoji Yuki , tra gli altri istruttori della Seigokan, entrambi dalla facoltà di Lingue straniere di Kyoto che introdusse lo stile Seigokan nelle ex-colonie Britanniche. Questo evento aveva una grande significato per noi, brasiliani, perché in questa palestra c’era un karateka chiamato José Martins Achiam , che si allenava lì. Era nato a Macau , una colonia portoghese vicino Hong Kong . Prima dell’introduzione ufficiale della Seigokan a Hong Kong , nel 1965, un uomo d’affari giapponese che era anche un istruttore di Goju Ryu, insegnò le tecniche a un gruppo di giovani cinesi ma per problemi di salute, tornò in Giappone e lasciò delle tracce di Karate in questo gruppo. Il giovane José Martins Achiam faceva parte di questo gruppo. Nel 1966, dopo il suo esame di cintura marrone, sotto insegnanti della Seigokan, iniziò formalmente l’insegnamento del Goju Ryu Seigokan a Macau a un gruppo di amici. In questo gruppo iniziale, si allenava l’istruttore Brasiliano del Goju Ryu Seigokai. Erano Luís Pedruco , Acaio e Puchy . il maestro Seigo Tada iniziò negli anni ’60 un lavoro focalizzato sull’introduzione del Karate ai giochi olimpici, come il Judo nel 1964. Il maestro aveva una grande importanza, non solo come direttore ma anche come arbitro, delegato e ispettore durante i primi campionati giapponesi e mondiali. Mentre era ancora in vita, Karate Seigokan si espanse in Asia , Europa, Oceania, e nelle Americhe. Il 2 febbraio del 1971, la seda principale della Seigokan è stata sistemata a Himeji town.

Il 18 ottobre del 1997 il maestro Seigo Tada sfortunatamente morì, vittima di un attacco di cuore, aveva 76 anni. La sua morte ci stupì enormemente perché sembrava che stesse bene un paio di mesi prima, durante il 72° torneo mondiale della Seigokan Karate, celebrando il 52° anno dalla formazione dell’associazione di tutti i membri giapponesi della Seigokan Karate-Do. Tra i titoli del gran maestro Seigo Tada , possiamo annoverare : 
- uno dei grandi uomini che promosse il Karate alle Olimpiadi; 
-Uno dei maestri che favorì la formazione della federazione giapponese di Karate, alla base della W.U.K.O , l’attuale W.K.F ,World Karate Federation (= Federazione Mondiale Karate );
- Membro del Direttivo del Consiglio Centrale della Federazione del Karate Giapponese;
- Segretario generale della federazione di karate nelle regioni del Kansai e del Kinki e vicepresidente della federazione di karate della provincia di Hyogo;
- Il capo degli arbitri del primo e del terzo campionato giapponese ( 1970 e 1972 );
- Delegato della Federazione Giapponese nel Campionato Mondiale di Karate tenutosi a Parigi, Francia;
-Capo di centinaia di Dojo Karate Seigokan in Giappone,scuole, università e compagnie come Hitachi , Coca-Cola , Panasonic e molte altre posizionate dal nord della provincia di Hokkaido al sud dell’isola di Kyushu;
-Direttore della sede principale giapponese del W.U.K.O , l’attuale W.K.F ;
- il supervisore principale dei distaccamenti internazionali in Brasile, Stati Uniti, Canada, Portogallo, Germania, Finlandia, Italia, Hong Kong, Macau , Singapore , etc .

Il maestro Seigo Tada era davvero una persona unica nella scena del Karate,un leader nato, generoso e sempre a disposizione di tutti, senza differenze di grado, anni o sesso. Un dato di fatto, è certo : nessuno ha e avrà occupato da qualcun altro, dato che non esiste nessuno con tale magnificenza e pace nella mente, tra le tante altre qualità che aveva. L’ideale del maestro Seigo Tada era che tutti i membri della Seigokan diventava un’intera e unica famiglia. 
La grande eredità che il maestro Seigo Tada ci lasciò era questa organizzazione, la “Japan Karate Do Seigokai” , riconosciuta, secondo le fonti in rete, la più grande organizzazione di Karate Goju Ryu in Giappone. Ora, é portata avanti da sua moglie,la dott.sa Okamoto Mitiko , o , Seigo Tada II , com’è stata chiamata dalla morte del marito.

Master Seigo Tada was born in February 18th , 1922 . He was the first son of Tada family in Kyoto , Japan , where Karate Goju Ryu was formally introduced in the main island Honshu . Japan is formed by four main islands : on northside Hokkaido , Honshu , the largest one ; on westside , Shikoku and on southside Kyushu . Okinawa is a small island on the southside of Kyushu . His first contact with Martial Arts accured when he was still a 15 year-old boy , in 1937 and moved with his family to Shangai city , in China . There , he met a Master from Kempo , named Ching Lou and he learned this Chinese Martial Art . In March , 1939 , back to Kyoto , he started a Karate training at Ritsumeikan University , where he attended high school . In 1941 , he started taking at this university the Financial Science course . At the university , there was a Karate club supervised by famous Master Miyagi Chojun , who was the responsible and introducer of Karate Goju Ryu . In a very short time he became the Karate coach of this university.

In 1943 , when he was called to the Great World War II , he joined to "Tokotai" group that had the same function of "Kamikaze" ( Divine Winds ) , which became famous by its suicidal techniques . But fortunately for us , Karate fighters , the war was over and our Master wasn't sent to his last mission . Right after the war , he felt inside that he must do something to raise the morale of Japanese people . So , he started , in Kyoto , a work based on the teaching of Karate Goju Ryu . This way , he tried to raise the morale and self-confidence of those ones who trained Karate . In August , 1945 , he returned to Japan , as he had been in Korea , and in September of this same year he set "Torimaru Dojo" , the first gym with the name Seigokan on it . During this year , he was graduated at Ritsumeikan University and was hired as a public employee . In 1947 , he was invited to teach at Saineikan Budo Castle , a famous Martial Art Center in Kyoto . So , he decided to quit his job and dedicate all his body and soul to Karate Goju Ryu Seigokai teaching . Due the great success of Karate classes , Master Seigo Tada founded All Japan Seigokan Karate do Association in this same year .

In 1951 , he set Toofukuji Dojo , where great Seigokan Karate fighters were graduated. A very interesting point into Master Seigo Tada's life was the insight that he had about Karate , before nhe had joined to the Japanese troops . As he predicted a serious economic crisis after war , the young Master storaged a plenty of kimonos and kept them at his house . The country suffered hard times after the end of the war , however the young Master Seigo Tada , with the sale of kimonos and classes proceeds , he could support himself during those hard days . Another very interesting point into his life occured when he was younger and took an acting test for the Japanese cinema and passed on it . but when he realized what could be his life as an actor , he gave it up and , fortunately , he turned his talent to Karate Seigokan . This fact happened at the same time when the famous actor Toshiro Mifune was also starring on the cinema . With the fame of a great fighter , Seigokan suddenly rose , by setting branches in others cities and provinces and the first sign of expansion was the setting of a gym in the province of Shiga , in Ootsu town ( 1952 ) .By following thisexpansion route , Seigokan quickly spread all over Japan , from the northside in Hokkaido island thru the southside in Kyushu island. In spite of Karate , at this time , had used not so many leg techniques , the young Master Seigo Tada asserted himself by using a good variety of kicks , which were his favourite techniques , because the influence of Chinese Kung Fu he had practiced during his adolescence . On March 9th , 1954 , Master Seigo Tada married the young Okamoto Mitiko , a doctor and resident in Himeji town , in the province of Hyogo , where he moved Goju Ryu Seigokai head office to . From 1966 on , his art reached the whole world . Oh Do Kan , a famous Martial Art Center in Hong Kong , invited a Karate Goju Ryu Seigokai instructor . So , it was sent instructor Yukiaki Yoki and then Shoji Yuki , among others Seigokan instructors , both of them from the Foreign Languages College of Kyoto , who introduced Karate Seigokan in the British ex-colony . This event had a great meaning for us , Brazilians , because at this gym there was a Karate fighter named José Martins Achiam , who used to train there . He was born in Macau , a Portuguese colony near Hong Kong . Before the official introduction of Seigokan in Hong Kong , in 1965 , a Japanese businessman who was also a Goju Ryu instructor , taught the techniques to a Chinese young group but because of some health problems , he returned to Japan and left the seed of Karate with this group . The young José Martins Achiam took part of this group . In 1966 , after his Brown Belt graduation , under Seigokan instructors teaching , already , he informally started the teching of Goju Ryu Seigokan in Macau to a group of friends . In this initial group , the instructors who set Brazil Goju Ryu Seigokai used to train there . They were Luís Pedruco , Acaio and Puchy . Master Seigo Tada started in the 60s a work focused on the introduction of Karate as an Olympic sport , like Judo in 1964 .He had a great importance , not only as a director but also as a referee , delegate and inspector during the first Japanese championships and the World ones , as well . During its lifetime , Karate Seigokan expanded to Asia , Europe , Oceania , North America and South America . In February 2nd , 1971 it was settled down Seigokan head office in Himeji town . In 1995 , at Seigokan Golden Jubilee party , when Brazil took part by the first time as a team ( before that the Brazilian athletes had done it individually ) , we did a great job . The team won the championship on the Seigokan 50th Anniversary party . Two years later we did it again during the last tournament in which one Master Seigo Tada was involved , from July 26th thru 27th , 1997 . In October 18th , 1997 Master Seigo Tada unfortunately died ,victim from a heart attack , he was 76 years-old . His death astonished us a lot because he seemed to be really healthy a few months earlier , during the 72nd Karate Seigokan World Tournament , celebrating the 52nd All Japan Seigokan Karate-Do Association . Among the deeds of Great Master Seigo Tada , we can highlight such as :

- One of the great men who encouraged Olympic Karate ;
- One of the Masters who helped to set Japanese Karate Federation , that was the base for setting W.U.K.O , current W.K.F ( World Karate Federation );
- Member of the Leadership Central Counsil of Japanese Karate Federation ;
- General Secretary of Karate Federation in Kansai and Kinki regions and Vice- President of Karate Federation of Hyogo Province ;
- Master Referee in the 1st and 3rd Japanese Championships ( 1970 and 1972 ) ;
- Delegate of the Japanese Federation in the Karate World Championship held in Paris , France ;
- Leader of a hundred of Karate Seigokan Dojos in Japan , schools , universities and companies like Hitachi , Coca-Cola , Panasonic and many others which were placed from the northside in Hokkaido province to the southside in Kyushu island ;
- Director of Japanese W.U.K.O head office , current W.K.F ;
- Master Supervisor of the international branches in Brazil , United States , Canada , Portugal , Germany , Finland , Italy , Hong Kong , Macau , Singapore , etc .

Master Seigo Tada was really an unique personality into Karate scene , a born leader , generous and he was always at any disciple disposal , no matter his graduation was , age or sex . As a matter of fact , he still is someone who will never have his place occupied for anyone else . Because there is nobody with such magnificence and peace of mind among many others qualities that he had . Master Seigo Tada's ideal was that all Seigokan members became a whole and unique family .
The great legacy that Master Seigo Tada left to us was this organization , Japan Karate Do Seigokai , which is recognized , according to Internet sources , the greatest Karate Goju Ryu organization set in Japan . Nowadays , it is led by his wife , doc. Okamoto Mitiko , or , Seigo Tada II , as she's been called since her husband died .
